Recipe - Candy Clay

This is a really fun one! Works like play doh but tastes a bit like candy corn. Dries without cracking and so much fun to play with that it usually doesn't get eaten (believe it or not) Recipe has been modified to allow for maximum kid assistance.

You'll need:
3 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup shortning
1 teaspoon vanilla
food color

Mixer, bowl, zip lock bags

Method:
Put the first 5 ingredients in the mixing bowl and mix until it resembles bread crumbs. Divide into zip lock bags, add a few drops of food color to each one. Seal and "smoosh" together with your hands until it resembles play doh.

Tips: A warm room helps with the smooshing part, keep sealed when not in use and don't refrigerate. Also, I have the kids work on paper plates in order to keep the mess under control.
